Christmas Wreath & Poinsettias

This is one of the easiest crafts to make during the busy Christmas holiday.
I took a plate and lightly traced a circle.  Then I gave the kids a sponge to dip into green paint. They sponged where the circle was to create a wreath affect. Then we added red finger prints to make little holy balls.  I added a bow using clip art I found on the internet.

Oh, Christmas Tree

While everyone is thinking of Christmas and Santa Claus, December is also great time to focus on Christmas trees.  Christmas is an exciting time of year for children and adults alike.  Going on a Christmas tree hunt is one of the fondest memories I have with my three boys.  Of course cutting down the tree is the hardest part (in my husband's opinion) and tying it to the car, but when bringing it home  it's hard to hide the excitement bubbling over during the car ride home!

After bringing the Christmas tree home, the fun begins by DECORATING!

Feathered Friends

Kids love giving treats to their feathered friends. it is amazing how quiet and still a two and three old can be - completely memorized.

We made bird seed ornaments to hang outside for our birds to eat and have winter treat.

These molded bird seed ornaments are a lot of fun to make, and very inexpensive. You may already have all the materials you need in your home - we were able to make gifts for all the wonderful friends in our life for around $3.

We also had a few handprint crafts making cardinals and owls. You can scroll down to see these cute crafts.
This was messy and perfect for toddlers to get gooey with. I found this recipe HERE if you're brave enough to try with your toddler.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I sure hope you enjoyed the crafts.
Of course, there's plenty of fun turkey books for November too.

The story of Thanksgiving is a hard one for 2 year olds to grasp. This video is a cute version about the Plymouth Rock and the Thanksgiving holiday that young children will enjoy.

(Add eyes, beak and feathers to complete the craft).

Little Red Riding Hood

Once upon a time, there was a little girl who lived in a village near the forest.  Whenever she went out, the little girl wore a red riding cloak, so everyone in the village called her Little Red Riding Hood.

Yes, we know how the story goes.

The kids made interactive books in the shape of baskets. It was nice to see how they re-told the story to their parents and siblings.
We tried making a Little Red Riding Hood craft.
 It started out okay.
But boys being boys, turned her hair into sideburns and mustaches.
Of course the best craft of the week that they enjoyed was the big BAD Wolf!
